Situated alongside the upper part of the
Fish River Canyon, at the edge of the Kalahari, the
Vogelstrausskluft Country Lodge offers unique possibilities for exploring Southern Namibia. With an area of more than 26,000 hectares the associated territory includes a wide variety of landscapes supporting diverse plant-life and providing a safe habitat for both small and large animals.
All 24 en suite rooms are tastefully decorated and equipped with air conditioning, electricity and a small veranda with a view into the valley.
Each morning and evening, the lodge offers guided Game drives over the Plateau to the top of the Canyon Rim. Kudu, Oryx, Springboks, Ostriches and various other animals and plants can be spotted frequently – and with luck even Jackal or Rooikat (Caracals). Arriving at the viewpoint you will experience a spectacular 360° view. On most days you will see more than 250km: Over the breathtaking Fish River Canyon to the Klein Karasberge on the one side – over the Plateau up to the mountain range that marks the border to the Namib Desert on the other.
